Most revenue centres and tax offices are open:
- Monday to Wednesday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Thursday and Friday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Selected offices open on some Saturdays around busy deadlines, such as the end of April (property tax) and mid-March (income tax returns). TAJ announces these in advance.

What you can do at a tax office
- Get a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) — you need one for a job, bank account, driver’s licence or property purchase.
- Pay property tax, income tax, GCT and other taxes.
- Renew a driver’s licence and pay motor vehicle registration and fitness fees.
- Apply for a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), needed for many Government contracts and licences.
- Get help with returns and statements of account.
Transfer tax and stamp duty for property sales are handled at the Stamp Duty & Transfer Tax office at 111 Harbour Street.
Skip the trip: do it online
Most services are available 24/7 on the TAJ portal at jamaicatax.gov.jm and through the TAJ mobile app: paying property tax and income tax, filing returns, checking your property tax status, and applying for a TCC. Several banks also let you pay property tax through online banking.
